Calendar and Schedule

Westmont usually commences classes the first Monday after Labour Day and goes until the Wednesday of the third week of June. What follows is a typical start up schedule for the first week, and then the typical schedule for the weeks following.

First Week of School

EPK has a staged start all week:
Tuesday: Kindergartens only 9:00am-12:30pm
Wednesday: Preschool only 9:00am-12:30pm
Thursday: Preschool 1/2 day, Kindergarten all day (see times in second week below)
Friday: Everyone attend full day (see times in second week below)

Lower Elementary
September 8th
9am-11am  Grade 2 & 3
1pm-3pm Grade 1
Rest of the week:
Regular schedule (see times in second week below)

Upper Elementary
September 8th
9am-11am Grades 5 & 6
1pm-3pm Grade 4
Rest of the week:
Regular schedule (see times in second week below)

Middle School
No classes: scheduled September 8th : Online Student-Parent-Teacher meetings
Rest of week: Regular Scheduled School Day (8:30 – 3:15pm), show up at 8:15 for 8:30 start

High School
Regular Scheduled School Day (8:30am – 3:15pm), show up at 8:15am for 8:30am start

Second Week and beyond

Regular schedule for all students
Early Primary drop off is at 8:40am
Elementary drop-off is at  8:20am to allow for students to be ready to go at 8:30am
Dismissal is 3pm for EP/K students. Early dismissal on Fridays is at 1pm for EP/K students
Dismissal is 3:15pm for all Elementary & Secondary School students. Early dismissal on Fridays is at 1:15 for students Gr. 1 – Gr. 11

Our year calendar follows the Sooke School district calendar for major holidays, but has different non-instructional days to meet the reporting schedules that we follow.
