Volunteerism is a cornerstone of Westmont culture and the PAC is one of the main channels for contribution to the school.
Every parent at Westmont is automatically part of the PAC and is warmly welcomed to assist its work. It takes a village! An elected executive of four (pictured above) work to lead the PAC’s initiatives and run monthly meetings.
The PAC fundraises to provide additional financial support to the school and classrooms for special events, projects and purchases along with most of the field trips, workshops and transportation. In recent years the PAC has raised about $30,000 per year which has gone towards:
PE and playground equipment
new computers and science equipment
excursions, field trips and transportation
the learning garden
class pets and many other enrichments to the students’ Westmont experience
Every contribution counts in our community, there is no effort too small and no idea too big to initiate.
Examples of volunteer activities:
creating a Halloween scavenger hunt
putting on a family picnic on the field
running the annual Charity Auction
taking orders for chocolates, cheese, soap or flowers
selling donated used uniform pieces
organizing pizza or hot lunch days
being available for new parents to approach
attending a monthly PAC meeting
